Have you heard of John Francis? He didn't get in any motorized vehicles for 22 years (and stayed silent for 17 years). He walked the earth to raise awareness about the environment, and still spreads the word through speeches and events. Maybe if you got in touch with him, he could join you on your walk for a while.
